The Ruffian will be racing every Tuesday initially and some Saturdays.

A small contribution to entry fee will be required.
If you haven't raced before this is a great opportunity to give it a try, you don't have to commit to sailing regularly.

There is also dinghy racing Tuesdays and Saturdays. If anyone is interested in entering a boat please contact Nicola

Dinghy Purchase

We are going ahead with purchase of three Laser Vagos and would hope to have this completed before the end of June.

Cruiser Purchase

The cruising purchase committee has been meeting regularly and are actively researching options with regard to a cruiser boat purchase. If you have any contributions or would like to get involved please contact Peter.

Powerboat Training

Well done to DonalEamonn, Gary, Peter & Jens who completed the level-2 powerboat certification recently organized by Nicola. Remember you can claim a rebate on you membership for training.

National Powerboat Certificate(Level-2) is a minimum qualification every member of this club should have.

Collanmore May Bank Holiday

Collanmore became the SID Irish Sailing School for the May weekend with 7 of the 9 weekend instructors from the club (Brenda, Cearbhall, Guido, Nigel, Sheenagh, Sidney, Wyn). The 8'th promised to join, and Martina did the assistant instructor training so we will go for a complete takeover next time round.

Membership

We currently have 51 members. We need more members for the club to be viable, especially as we are investing in the fleet, so please spread the word. Why not bring your friends or colleagues along for a guest sail some evening. No previous sailing experience is required to sail on the Ruffian.
