Minutes of last AGM
Brenda read minutes of last AGM held on August 29th 2007. No issues raised.
2007 Accounts
Colm presented the 2007 accounts. Club finances in good order.
Accounts proposed by Cearbhall Daly and seconded by Colm Roche.
Accountant & Auditors
Michael O’Dwyer to be retained as accountant. Increased charged to €858 but still remains good value. Proposed by Cearbhall Daly and seconded by Jane Holland.
Auditors to be retained – Byrne & Byrne. Charge of €640. Proposed by Cearbhall Daly and seconded by Bronagh O’Leary.
Membership fee
Currently €325 as set at last AGM so will remain for this year. Proposal to increase to €350 for 2009 with a discount for joining before April 1st. Committee to review other discounts. Increase required for extra money needed for Sigma and replacing fleet. Proposed by Cearbhall Daly and seconded by Brenda O’Connell.
All members to encourage new members.
Chairperson’s report
Overall a successful year. Lots of members involved in both dinghy and ruffian racing. New Sigma 33 being purchased. Application to Lottery for new container facilities – outcome should be announced in May.
Thank you to all members who gave time to the club – Bronagh & co. for social, Angela & Richard for promotion, Damien, Donal, Ann & Peter for Sigma purchase, all those involved in committee, maintenance, lottery application, captains and organisers.
Committee election
Chairperson: no volunteers, Cearbhall to remain.
Dinghy secretary: Jo Toomey – Propose by Cearbhall & seconded by Brenda.
Treasurer: Colm Roche – Proposed by Cearbhall & seconded by Jo Toomey
Committee Members: Brenda O’Connell, Wyn Hughes, Morgan Hammersley & Donal O’Mahony – Proposed by Cearbhall & seconded by Colm Roche.
Ann Coyne, Peter MyIntyre and Nicola Byrne stepped down from the committee.

Ruffian Lift-in: this weekend and volunteers needed.
Ita (420) being examined by a few members to see if it can be repaired.

Update on Sigma purchase given by Damien Byrne and Donal O’Mahony.
Marina fees €4,500per year.
Decision to go ahead with purchase – Proposed by Cearbhall and seconded by Bronagh O’Leary.
Decision to be made about the future of the Ruffian to be made at the end of 2008.
Morgan Hammersley organised €1000 corporate sail sponsorship. We may not be able to put this on sails due to racing rules.
